Discover the natural wealth of Lake Plastira and its breathtaking landscapes! Lake Plastira is located in the centre of Greece and the landscape surrounding it is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. The artificial Lake Plastira, or Lake Tavropou, was created in 1959 with the completion of the dam of the river Tavropou. It has an important role as an intermediate semi-mountainous zone between the Thessalian plain and the Eastern Agrafa. We explore its hidden treasures in its aquatic and lakeside world, its mountains and caves.

Day 1:
Arriving at the lake outside the village of Kastanies is one of its most beautiful fjords. From there we will start a beautiful water kayak trip in its turquoise and calm waters. On a coastal route to its fjords we have the opportunity to gaze at the imposing mountains of Agrafa above the lake and see Herons, Watercocks, River Ducks and several species of ducks, on the shores Cormorants and Waterbirds. The lake is also home to several species of fish, such as snapper, carp, perch, perch, flatfish, trout, bream and others. We will make a stop at Nyaga Island and cross the lake to the Botanical Garden. We will then engage in archery where we practice target focus, determination and decision making. We will transfer to the Hotel and check in. The evening has dinner and rest.

Day 2:
Breakfast and departure for the village of Filakti, from there we start the hike to the peak Templa 1809m. Initially we hike along a green forested path of fir and oak trees. After the shelter we continue in an alpine landscape to the summit. The panoramic view will reward our efforts. We are located just above the village Neraida. Βelow our feet, the blue waters of the lake and all around us are the peaks of Agrafa. From Karava, Kazarma, Borlero, the Five Towers, Svonis and Papadimitri to Delidimi, Fteri and Liakoura. Further back the Oiti, Giona and Vardousia. And next to us is Voutsikaki. From there we will descend to the cave of Kaimakia, which is the largest cave of Karditsa prefecture. The cave extends on two levels with a total length of 470m of corridors and impressive decoration, while inside the cave there is an underground river. All those who participate will enter a magical world of amazing colours, shapes, silence and majesty. We will then return to the lodge where we will have lunch. This is followed by free time and rest. Shortly after sunset, we will photograph and enjoy the Aphrodite’s belt and the shadow of the earth formed in the east with purple pink and blue colors and the alpine glow with Lake Plastira as a background. After dinner we will set up our equipment just above the lodge and get lost in the magical world of the night. We will enjoy the nebulae of the Milky Way, observe the constellations, see Saturn and Jupiter with their satellites. We will make mountain tea to drink as we sit under the stars and share stories of our village life and our climbs in the mountains with the aim of making you love them. Later we can take pictures with the galaxy. Those who dare, will take along frames and stories of what is worth telling our loved ones. At midnight we will return to the lodge.

Day 3:
Breakfast and departure for hiking in a forest of fir and oak trees with the lake as a viewpoint, ending up in the beautiful picturesque village of Belokomiti. Then we will have coffee on a beautiful balcony and continue our adventure exploring the Cave of Gaki. After Zygogiannakika we will first descend into a small beautiful gorge and follow the river to reach the cave. Indeed, one of nature’s most impressive creations are caves with stalactites and stalagmites. The feelings are mixed, admiration, anxiety about the unknown, curiosity, euphoria, joy and surprise. The most charming view of the lake will undoubtedly be enjoyed from the Observatory on the way back. At an altitude of 1,350 meters where it is located, if the atmosphere is clear, the view reaches up to Mount Olympus. We can admire the lake in all its length and width, the alpine forest and the bare peaks of the high mountains painted in the background. We will then make a short stop at the dam, an elegant arch that seems to embrace the huge volume of water of the lake, it is a beautiful spot to gaze at the lake and also the back side of the dam that dives to a depth of 83m, vertically between the rocks. Lunch follows and return to Athens.
